![]() ![]() Though the turn-based battles are fairly straightforward, the different ways the classes’ move sets work reminded me a little bit of Final Fantasy VI’s varied party. Plus, these aren’t just your standard warriors and black mages - 7th Dragon III has some truly original creations like “God Hands,” who combine martial arts with healing abilities, and “Duelists,” who use a deck of colored cards to summon traps and creatures. All of this is kinda lost in the last game where you are pretty much backed by a rich company and a nanomachines-fueled military soldier. As for the game’s main draws, combat and exploration, the first word that comes to mind is “addictive.” With eight character classes to choose from, and a number of different skills to learn for each class, there’s plenty of variety to keep you busy here. ![]() You are pretty much on the bottom and you have to climb, repairing and preparing a building for what is going to come next. Soldiers risk their lives, civils hide themselves and you have to rescue and send them to a shelter, people's lives are constantly afected by Big Dragons affecting nature as earthquakes, acid rain, toxic pollution, etc (at the start and end of each chapter their dialogues change in a cycle of fear and rejoice), things get to the point where people makes cults believing that the dragons are gods or a mass suicide cult in what is left of a barely functional internet). In 2020/II, you barely have equipment, resources, money, you don't have much backup except for a military force that is constantly losing it's members agains dragons. One thing that has 20 II that VFD doesn't is that it sells you a "post-apocaliptic" setting where humanity is struggling against dragons.
